Goals

The aim of the project is the effective knowability of the legal order through IT systems capable of reducing its complexity, giving legislators the opportunity to draft self-explaining legislative texts and giving citizen friendly access to them. A system of integrated tools, to support production and management of legislative sources and direct research of relevant provisions, has been developed. Studying the legislative process, modeling related knowledge, design and development of prototypes software, efficient software upon request (2003 XML Editor for Ministry of Justice). A multifaceted integrated IT system to support production and management of self-explaining acts and research of regulatory provisions has been carried out.

Rules: formal theory of normative dispositions in DL (Description Logic);
Concepts: domain ontology concerning the Italian personal data protection law.

Tools

metaEdit: XML legislative texts editor and semantic mark-up system;
metaSearch: normative provisions and related concepts (metadata) searching system in legislative sources;
metaPlan: meta-drafting project: model driven drafting of legislative texts (semantic authoring).
